What is the difference between the use of shower gel, EDT, or deodorant stick?

Why would a be used in other (plus the obvious shower gel in the shower, duh!)? "The last was longer or the smell stronger? To be used in combination? How do I smell good people I confess to be closer, but not people who are a little far from me (to avoid unwanted attention or compliments)?
